Laura Baker

Laura Baker is the president and CEO of LMG Consulting.  She holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University.  Laura Baker was the second woman in the country to receive a Bachelors of Science degrees in Informatics.  Informatics is defined as the use of information in relationship to business management, logistics and operations.

Laura then worked as a consultant in Indianapolis, Indiana for Salin Bank and Trust in the financial services group.  Her responsibilities included gathering financial information on businesses and the improvement of cash flow and overall business operations for the banks clients.  

Ms. Baker then moved to Southern California area where she started Lasara Catering part time.  Within six months her part time passion went to a full time career and over $2.4 Million in sales.  Laura has been through the gauntlet and has worked with caterers, venues, restaurants, hotels, event professionals and in the service industry.  Ms. Baker has certifications in event planning and ServSafe.  Laura has worked with the best professionals in the industry from companies such as Starbucks Coffee, Panera Bakery, Cheese Cake Factory, Spago, Hyatt, Marriott, W Hotels, Hilton Hotels, Ritz Carlton, Cisco Foods and many more.  

Laura is a member of the Indiana University Alumni Association, Los Angeles Chapter of Indiana University Alumni, Informatics Alumni Association, Procurement Professionals Group, Hi Powered Food & Beverage Panel.

An Evening with Santa is a Long Beach community event which creates a memorable and lasting evening filled with entertainment, crafts, games, story time, drawings and gifts for the participants.  In 2009 we brought together over 50 families and generated donations for families in this time of need for The Breast Cancer Angels (BCA). The BCA is a Southern California based charity that provides financial, emotional and spiritual assistance for women and their families as they are going through breast cancer treatment.

Laura Baker is also highly involved with her children's education, Long Beach Unified School district and Keller Elementary School.  Laura is highly involved in creating events such as "Fire Safety Rally" featuring the Long Beach Fire Department to teach children about fire and safety personnel and the steps to take in case of a fire in a fun and informative manner.  She is also heavily involved in fundraising to raise funds for Keller Elementary school's general fund.  

Laura Baker has articles on WeddingWire.com, the Knot.com, Biznik.com and her company was featured on the TV show the “The Biggest Loser” and she has been interviewed by Access LA. 

Laura knows that it is difficult to grow businesses and that many businesses are struggling to succeed in this economy.  LMG has listened to these businesses and works with them to make them more competitive in the marketplace.
